BT Tunnels

The Deep Level Tunnels Refurbishment project was the first of its kind, with Pectel being immersed in the project since its commencement in 1999. The unique nature of the working environment presented by the project called for Pectel to work innovatively and ensure very strict compliance with the regulations of the business environment.

Since the project’s commencement Pectel has been committed to maximising the benefits that are to be gained from providing a safe and healthy working environment, by implementing appropriate levels of resources in the form of finance, equipment, personnel and time allocated to risk management.

It is due to this unwavering dedication that Pectel has recently been rewarded with the enviable achievement of reaching 800,000 safe working man hours without a reportable accident, having previously been accredited with both 250,000 and 500,000 safe working hours, and hope, by the completion of the project, to reach an amazing 1,000,000 safe working man hours.

This tremendous achievement is testament to Pectel’s continued devotion to making the project a safe place to work for all concerned by ensuring all personnel are appropriately and continually trained for the job they are required to undertake and that site is regularly audited to monitor the performance of the Company and improve the overall safety culture within the workplace.
