Pectel has established long term contracts and clients in this specialist market as employees working in secure areas must be assessed to attain High Security Clearances permits.
Since 2002 Pectel has worked on various asbestos removal and encapsulation projects at the following MoD sites; Perham Down Garrison, Bulford Garrison, RAF St Athan, Warminster Garrison and RAF Marham, which featured a unique project involving the removal of asbestos from the cockpits of a number of RAF Canberra PRMk9s (specifically asbestos insulation around the hydraulic pipe-work which operated the planes’ landing gear). The irregularity of the area to be decontaminated meant that the works involved the erection of an unusually-shaped enclosure and airlock around each plane’s cockpit.
